Nova Scotia has been regularly organizing draws part of the Express Entry system. A new draw that was organized through the Labour Market Priorities Stream in Nova Scotia has led to the distribution of new invitations amongst Express Entry candidates who can have work experience in the field of social and community service.
Under the Labour Market Priorities Stream, Nova Scotia’s immigrant nominee program or the NSNP is allowed to navigate the federal Express Entry pool in search of candidates who have specific work experience. These candidates can then be invited to apply for a provincial nomination in case they are looking to gain Canadian permanent residence.
Having the provincial nomination will significantly boost their chances of progressing on the road to permanent citizenship. The draw that was organized on 5th December was the sixth draw that was organized by the NSNP via Labour Market Priorities Stream during the course of 2019. The draws that were held earlier this year wanted to target Express Entry candidates having eligible work experience in the field of nursing, accountancy, and carpentry. Financial auditors were also taken into consideration, amongst others.
Since the Express Entry system is the biggest immigration tool in Canada, it is responsible for the entire pool of candidates who can be categorized under the country's primary Economic Class immigration programs. These include the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Class. Once the Express Entry candidates are able to secure a provincial nomination, they will be able to boost their CRS score by factoring in an additional 600 points.
This will improve their ranking significantly and effectively guarantee them an invitation using which they will be able to submit their applications for Canadian permanent residence during the next draw from the Express Entry pool.
The December 5 draw focused on securing Express Entry candidates holding work experience in Social and Community Service Workers. It falls under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 4212.
