New Express Entry draw issues 3,200 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence

A fresh draw was organized on 11th December from the federal Express Entry pool. It led to the issuance of 3,200 invitations that would allow candidates to submit their applications for permanent residence in Canada. The invitation round held on 11th December recorded a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 472. According to the Canadian immigration laws, the Express Entry system commands the pool of candidates who are grouped under the three main skilled labor immigration categories of Canada. These are the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Class.

All the candidates are assigned specific ranks in the pool on the basis of the CRS system. The score is determined by a combination of factors like age, skilled work experience, education, and language proficiency. Candidates do not necessarily need to have a job offer if they want to be eligible for the Invitation to Apply (ITA) under the Express Entry system. However, it should be noted that candidates with a job offer would be given additional CRS points.

A fixed number of the candidates with the highest ranks are then given invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada via regular draws from the pool. These invitation rounds are usually organized every two weeks. All three Express Entry-managed categories are usually included in the procedure. The cut-off CRS score can be determined by the number of candidates included in the Express Entry pool, the number of ITAs to be issued and the time period in between draws.

The larger draws usually tread deeper into the pool of candidates, and that can lower the CRS cut-off score. The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) used a tie-break time and date for the latest draw.
