Manitoba issues 183 invitations to skilled workers and international graduates in the latest draw

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) organized a draw on 19th December and distributed 183 invitations amongst international graduates hailing from Manitoba and professional skilled workers. The candidates who had already submitted their Expression of Interest profiles to Manitoba were eligible to receive the invitations that would allow them to apply for a provincial nomination. The candidates who were invited belonged to categories such as the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, the Skilled Worker Overseas categories, and the International Education Stream.

The invitations are also called the Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) because they allow the candidates to submit their applications for permanent residence. Candidates belonging to Skilled Workers in Manitoba got 149 invitations while the candidates under Skilled Workers Overseas received 17 invitations. The International Education Stream candidates also had 17 invitations idst8rbuted amongst them. After the completion of the draw, the total number of LAAs that were issued by the MPNP came to 7,545 invitations in 2019.

16 of the 183 invitations that were issued during the latest Manitoba draw were given to candidates with a profile in the Express Entry pool. Express Entry is in charge of the entire pool of candidates who are a part of Canada’s important Economic-Class immigration categories. The Express Entry candidates are assigned different ranks on the basis of certain human capital factors like age, academics, work experience, and language proficiency. The candidates with the highest scores under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) can then be invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada via regular draws.

Provincial nomination awards Express Entry candidates with an extra 600 CRS points as a result of which they are effectively guaranteed an invitation allowing them to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Express Entry candidates should have eligible work experience in any of the Manitoba’s in-demand professions in order to qualify.
